Here are some helpful wiring tips:
How to include the Zooz On / Off switch to your smart home network?
1. Bring your Z-Wave gateway hub or controller as close to the switch as possible
2. Put your Z-Wave controller in inclusion/pairing mode
3. Tap the upper paddle of the switch 3 times quickly to finalize the inclusion process
4. A new on/off switch should appear on your controller's device list
NOTE: Use a dedicated diagram from the manual to wire the switch in a 3-way setting with a regular electrical switch if you are looking to control one light with 2 or 3 switches.
This thing is affordable, reliable, and drop dead simple to setup. The range is amazing. I have it in a shed about 50 feet away from my house and had no problems getting it into home assistant.
Easy to pair with Home Assistant. Works great with smart bulbs. You have to enable Parameter 9 if you disable the relay to make sure scene commands are sent. After that - easy peasy.
The Zen71 switches worked great and were adopted easily into the network. They are very responsive when toggles in the HomeAssistant and HomeKit apps. Overall build quality is great as well. I would definitely buy more as I start adding more automations.
The switch overall is pretty nice. The responsiveness is great. The installation was super simple and felt robust. The only issue I have with these switches is the feel of the actual switch. Having some other brands the actuation and the solidness of the switch itself could have a better feel, but these are about half the cost of some other brands. All said it’s a nice reliable switch at a good price point. Will continue to purchase Zooz brand.
This new 800 series switch is nice and fast. It does feel a little faster to respond than the 700 series switches I have. I still have a 700 series controller so I expect when I upgrade that at some point my network will be even better.
